EMPIRICAL FORMATIONS

Code PSC010

The technical evolution brings new conditions and a radical rethinking of our interactions and concerns of the ecosystem, is demanded. The project referes to how architecture could operate as a phenomena in nature. New forms can be generated by using the empiricism of how organic matter adapt and transform in respond to the environment.

TARGET
Morphing has a genetic character. It's like cross-breeding alchemical materials through codes in the Ecosystem.

By learning from the disciplines that attend to
morphogenesis, creating a generative model for
architecture, is possible.

In terms of genetic engines of artificial life, valid contributions could be brought out even to the physical world.
A simulation in this physical structuring could function as a kind of reverse empiricism,
THE EMPIRICISM OF THE POSSIBLE.

By selecting my own codes and letting them operate
in it's own system, new forms are carried out. These are
in a complete adaption and consideration to the
environment, in space and time.

In this case environmental responsibility is the building's ability to respond to as many of the known constituents of a locality as possible. But here it's not just the sun and energy concerns, but also, for example the morphological ones, as in contact with water or soil.

The environmental influences could bring out
details such as; water-wall, dunes, phosphorescent micro-organisms, future plants etc.

Nature's highly complex systems are too complex for anyone individual to understand.
A selected coding system, according to sample with ecological adaption is required.

ACHIEVEMENT
In theory Cuboides have different "use values". They develope in a given dynamic Landscape. Sequentially they transform in every new position they are located in along their orbit. The transformation comes out of various existing or potential needs of the Cuboide's ecological adaption, coded as "use values".

The Cuboides are sign coded to read each location's conditions. As an eye, cameras are placed in each Cuboide, and views in all directions. A picture is transferred and causes an adaption of the Cuboide's envelopment. All geographic information is selected in the Cuboides' memory.

The information can be translated from the landscape's materialmap, since they respond to patterns or RGB-colours. If another Cuboide intersects the picture, it's material information is included in the rendering.

The sign codes are mapped out in a cross-over operation and programmed to carry out certain tasks in each position.
Envelopments differs to infinity through time from the sequence of images, describing motions in space

THE SIGN CODES: MOVEMENTS AND RENDERING
blue WATER each Cuboide renders 200 pictures
green SOIL out of 200 given positions in one
blue-green SWAMP given orbit and per generation
yellow-white SUN
black SKY
red CUBOID MATERIA

THE GRAPHIC TASK AND THE TRANSFORMATION:
TASK TRANSMISSION SCALE
ERASE CUT OUT black=COMPLETLY
black-white=FADING
DISPLACE STRETCH OUT/EXTEND blue=60%
green=40%
blue-green=50%
EXPANSION EXPAND IN ALL DIRECTIONS according to RGB colours

CONCLUSION
By understanding and using information from Nature, one can better understand what kind of spaces they offers us to construct.

The fundamental structure is given, without falling back on sacred geometries of past ages. The materials are taken from space itself.

An adaption to the dynamic ecosystem is
the EVOLUTION of the physical world.

This engagement makes architecture more relevant to the world and more in keeping what is sensed as
A NEW CONDITION.
