Lotus Float Code PSC014 Like a lotus, the floating module for amphibious living, adapts to the water without resisting its presence. Going up and down according to its will, without wandering, guided always by the central cylinder anchored in the soil. LOTUS FLOAT is the result of the perfect integration between water-life-habitat. it is a model that does not resist water, but instead makes it the variation engine. they work symbiotically. Lotus float uses water as it's foundation and base surfacing depending on the amount of air contained in it's lower portion. it's anchored in the g round with an axis or central column that functions with the module directing it's vertical movement, according to the water level and avoiding the lateral, while conserving the module in it's place. it is equipped with an alternative mechanical system in case of mechanical failures. LOCATION The hypothetical location has the following characteristics: · River flood zone · Frequency, 3 times per year, during 2 months each time · Topography, plains · Flooding range, 0-1 meter. · Climate, variable THE URBAN MODEL Uses the octagon as it's basic form, generating in it's repetitions, flexible urban groups, in a spontaneous form, one by one, or giant conglomerates with organized screens and distinct types of housing (octagons), work and commercial areas. THE HOUSING MODULE The module created is flexible to the type of family that inhabits it, giving the option of a singular home of 57mts² or 2 homes of 28.5 Mts² In its function, it intends to be autonomous, equipped with: · An outhouse for organic wastes, with small, interchangeable tanks whose (contents) will become a source of natural gas. · Asmall treatment plant with an anaerobic system for residual waters will empty into the river · A water tank used to collect water for internal use · The outer covering would be done with solar energy panels. MATERIALS The floater and air chamber is composed of triangular modules in recyclable plastic, that make up the platform in which the housing will be built in an area connecting with other modules. The housing is constructed out of light sandwich-like panels, exterior sheets and a polyurethane interior, making it highly thermal.
