Weerwater has ruled out the possibilty of revering Almere to a hierarchical and centralist urban struture. In the polder, which had just been drained with considerable effort, they created a lake, thereby negating every centralist claim of the planning discipline.

This Lake is the secret, inert, empty center of Almere.> Bart Loostsma Archis 11/99. The importance of Weerwater to Almere plan is crucial. The lake is not only an important point in the urban plan of Almere but also gives an extra quality, a special caracter to Almere. It's emptyness, gives possabilitys to new urban utopia. A new waterscape in the center of Almere.

The aim of the project is to use the potencial of this area. To act in this waterscape in a way that enphasize it qualitys an d specifities of the site. A waterscape project that alowds the Lake to keep it inert secrets and qualitys to the urban plan. Water cuts, also referes to The Nederlands history. Dutch land history is about cuting, draining, pomping water. Dutch have a profund relation with the water , a colective perpection of it's power and utility like any other European country The water has a material and inconscient presence, it 's not only a suplie.
